What kind of things cause an add account to be banned on a social network site?

Depends on the social network site...
But I suppose you are talking Facebook add account (not personal account)...
Read and follow ALL the facebook guidelines...
Issues with your credit card payments can get you banned...
The AI can disable your account for many unknown reasons, you then need to request a manual review... If you follow the FB guidelines your account should be reactivated (I intentionally type SHOULD because nothing is sure with FB)
Getting your add account disabled too many times in a row can get it banned (even if you were not doing anything wrong...)
I can go on but I would suggest you have a read through the Facebook Business help Pages

Exactly right, just read their terms of service
If you don't post anything controversial they'll most likely leave you alone
But those TOS can be 'interpreted' by the enforcers (Big Tech)
Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, You Tube
They can summarily ban you for having a different political view point
(if you express that viewpoint anywhere near their TOS violation line)
