When Google updates its algorithms or even when it exports PageRank to its toolbar, you'll see a flurry of posts on any webmaster site extending over several days and forum threads that are dozens of pages long.

Well, Yahoo just announced some recent updates...

Weather Report: Yahoo! Search Index Update
February 27, 2009

We?ve rolled out some changes to our index with fresh web data and updates to our crawling, indexing, and ranking algorithms over the last few days. We have had two updates since last November: one in December, 2008, and another in late January this year. We expect the update will be completed very soon. Throughout this process you may see some changes in ranking as well as some shuffling of the pages in the index.

Hardly anyone noticed. Does anyone really care?

Good point David. No one seems to talk about Y any more.

Since literally all my traffic comes from G now I've almost forgotten about Y.
In fact I wish I had not paid my yearly Y reindexing fee because the traffic is so negligible.

I've found (historically) that my search results in Y! lag behind my efforts in Google (by one year or more).

I hit the top of Google non-sponsored in August of 2008.

Hopefully by August of 2009, Y! will be the same (and my 6000+ bl won't hurt).

Nevertheless, I get 8x the traffic from Goo.

I noticed some big gains for my sites on Yahoo, but it doesn't really send any traffic so it doesn't bother me one way or the other.... :(
