MAIN ASPECTS OF WEB DESIGNING ARE:

1. THE CONTENT: the substance, and information on the site should be relevant to the site and should target the area of the public that the website is concerned with.

2. THE USABILITY: the site should be user-friendly, with the interface and navigation simple and reliable.

3. THE APPEARANCE: the graphics and text should include a single style that flows throughout, to show consistency. The style should be professional, appealing and relevant.

4. THE VISIBILITY: the site must also be easy to find via most, if not all, major search engines and advertisement media.

It will be quite interesting if someone expand on the usability part of this post especially usability testing and how to design user interface that help conversion.

Ya I do agree to you about these web design aspects. But in my point of view the content , usability & user friendliness are main aspects to be looked upon.

All above mentioned aspects are truely necessary. Absense of these could lead to incorrect operation or just unprofessional appearance.

While this is a bit old, all of these aspects are still relevant and important 5 years later after the original post. Content, usability, appearance, and visibility are all majorly important aspects of web design.

As always, content remains the driving force behind a web presence. Who, what, when, where, why, and how are consistent in insuring that a website is giving you all of the information and content needed.

Usability is another important but it has evolved over the years. Less usability and more navigability now, the aim is more being able to easily get where one is trying to go. Any content that the user might interact, since 2009, have generally become much simpler and straight forward in interaction.

Depending on where you live, appearance may have more or less of an impact. A professional website may attract more business oriented customers, but this is only a small portion of a much larger group now. The appearance must be orientated to attract the population in which you have the most interest.

Visibility is also important but less directly affect-able then the previous three. With the hundreds of thousands of websites to search through, getting through the underbrush becomes a puzzle of what tags, descriptions, and information to tie to the site. If done well, the lifeline will drag the site up where it can reach light and traffic, growing further from there.

I believe that these will continue to be important well into the future, purely based on their necessity in creating a successful venture. More may come along, but that is something that we will see at a later point in time.
