should all ebooks have formal/graphical covers?

OR are title pages sufficient? and why? i missed this one in the lists. i did a search but found a lot of ppl mentioning that it is important to pay for an ebook cover...

I think e-book covers are a very good way to go. It gives a positive cosmetic look to your product.

Even though it's only virtual, I think it adds a lot to your customer's experience. Anything that helps you get your most wanted response, the click, is gold, IMO.

I think a good cover does help as well. Can also help on your sales page with sales and conversions. A while back I read a post where a marketer linked the ebook cover with the order link on his sales page and actually saw an increase in conversions.

I think it also adds credibility.

I guess a good e-book is identified by a good cover. Readers may know that this e-book contains what they want.

I've sold about 300 ebooks, never bought a cover!

I'd rather spend the time making a better ebook!
