Credit card merchants

Contact your local bank (must be a big bank) and ask for it. If your product is legit or you can make it seem legit you can get a good CC processor. Gotta be willing to pay some heavy fees though. The "affiliate" or "shady" friendly processors that huge fees (5-8% of revenue). And you gotta make sure your chargeback ratio doesn't go over 1-1.5%.

Yea, our bank is big and they represent shady companies, but they refuse to work with us as a merchant, especially with subscriptions...

1. Check your spam box.
2. Open any psudo-pharma or nutrient offers you see there.
3. Attempt to make a buy and see what payment processors are being used.
If you do not know, they are almost always hidden, processed through API that client side does not see...

Make a purchase. You do have a prepaid credit card for finding out? If it's not worth the small amount of money to find out -- then you can't afford to know.

Obviously, the transactions are being processed somehow. My best guess is that they are paying a high-risk rate 10% or more. Or, they are using MIDs of more legit merchants and sneaking purchases through somehow.
Hm, I am not sure that it is shown on transaction which merchant is in use...

if you aren't dealing in any shady meds.. i dont think it should be difficult for you to acquire a merchant account with a mainstream acquiring bank. If you do some further research, you will know that there are plenty of PSP's and banks out there who work with Nutra merchants.

Alz, did you end up finding a processor? I know a UK nutra startup that had trouble finding CC processing until recently. Seems like startups face a challenge getting accepted by banks.

Hey!

Can anyone recommend any CC Merchant that works with pseudo pharm (a.k.a. nutra) products with subscriptions? :)

That's a point; US law (perhaps VISA/MC) requires only the billing *seller* be listed on the statement.
I Just made a fake buy of .penis pills. just for kicks. They accepted my fake info and emailed me they would fraud check and get back with me .. LOL They are trying a call-in transaction ( I am guessing) of shopping where to place the order and get paid? Obviously, they haven't got an online processor. I was involved with PCI-DSS credit card processing, anti-fraud mainly, know the rates. If you are a legit seller like selling vitamins and supplements (Amazon, Walmart, Tesco, etc it would just run through a high-volume MID and the chargebacks would be a diluted issue.

If they have a legit biz in something else they may just be slipping it through that way?

Subscriptions in processing are problematic if you are not a well known entity -- they have high chargeback ratios. That is a problem with porn pay site subscriptions too. We did adult webcams so it was a closed end purchase -- one-at-a-time sale.

VISA Europe? (Diet, Muscle and Male enhancement) for AT, DE, BE, NL, CH, FI, SE --- have you considered SEPA/EFT? In the US you can do monthly ACH payments. Banks like clean business. Verotel in Amsterdam might do it. Be careful with them tho.
