Hello young padawan,

You know how people judge books by their cover? The same principle applies to websites. A nice design and a functional website means quality content that visitors can trust. More trust = more revenue ($$$).
  1. Logo: a logo is a representation of who you are. It goes everywhere you want to establish your online brand. Throughout your site, make sure that each page has your logo.
  2. Good site name - keep it short and relevant to your URL and logo. Be consistent.
  3. A contact page - visitors feel at ease when they see that you can be easily reached.
  4. A DMCA page - more on DMCA pages here below.
  5. Great content - offer quality content and keep ads to a minimum to have return visitors. Too many ads on your site will tell your visitors that you care more about making money than their experience on your site.
Then the Force will guide you ;)

This is really inspiring as thread, i believe this is the type of threads everyone wants to see around here.

I see there is a new trend toward automated advertising -- the *smash and grab* automated web affiliate marketing. The growth rate in this segment is high. I see the new affiliate marketing entrants here mostly interested in these things and related subjects ...

That said, you are talking about establishing some form of web business and branding the site. What you have said above are important touchpoints. To go further would be policy statements; TOS and AUP. Further would be getting MID numbers for merchant accounts and setting up PCI-DSS billing servers. I have been involved in all of these areas.

How far do you want to go and toward what goal? Or, how far do you really need to go? Being a successful *specialist* and media buyer in some vertical and niche has its appeal -- if the bottom line is there ... my 2₵
