302 redirect

Permanent 301
To summarize in a few lines, permanent 301 redirects are just as they sound. They are permanent redirects from an old URL to a new one. These redirects tell the search engines that the old location is to be removed from their index and replaced with the new location. Using 301 redirects is the most search engine friendly way to redirect traffic and engines, and far out weighs that of various JavaScript and Meta refresh redirects.

Temporary 302
Temporary 302 redirects are also as they sound; temporary. Here you are telling the search engines to read and use the content on the new page, but to keep checking the original URL first as it will ultimately be reestablished.

A 302 redirect, or also known as a temporary redirect, should be put in place if you want to redirect your site visitors into another webpage but you plan to bring the redirected page back after some time. Knowing this, the 302 redirect will not pass on all qualities of the redirected page to the detour page.

302 redirect is a temporary redirection, This can be used for forwarding(redirecting) one URL to a different URL for temporary.
Example for 302 –Temporary redirect
Redirect temp /old-path new-URL
or
Redirect 302 /old-path new-URL

A 302 status code means Found, or more commonly referred to as “temporarily moved.” This redirect doesn’t carry or pass the link value to the new location. What it does do is get the user to an appropriate location for you so that you aren’t showing them a broken link, a 404 page not found, or an error page.

A 302 redirect is a temporary redirect. There are very few instances where this type of redirect should be used, but unfortunately it is the easiest to implement. This means that many webmasters unfamiliar with search engine mechanics use the wrong type of redirect.

302 is a temporary redirect where you are essentially redirecting the user to a different web page but only for a brief period of time. Most SEO experts do not use 302 because it is dangerous to get wrong. Why? Because when using 302, all the benefits of the web page (for example PR) are kept on the old page, but not passed on to the new page. It should only be used when testing a web page.
