Thanks for the response Patricia. However in the days since posting, I have sorted the Macro with someone who specialises in Excel and VB.

    W3C validation help needed

Yes surreypcsupport, I produce compliant code by validating in FF as I go. Most non compliant code that I come across was produced by one WYSIWYG or another with blind faith and never so much as glance at the code produced by these tools.

    W3C validation help needed

I find the best way to end up with compliant code without a daunting task at the end, is to Validate on the go. I do this by previewing my design in Firefox with the plug-in "Html Validator" installed. This way, each time you add or change anything and the Preview in Browser, any coding issues...

    W3C validation help needed

I mend more bad sites than I have build. Over about 10 years or more, I have frequently fixed sites full of pages containing multiple Code errors yet achieving good position in the SERPs. I have also SEOd sites that contained serious errors such as missing > closings and just addressing these...

    W3C validation help needed

In general terms, it is down to the degree of error not the number of errors. If an error or warning is relatively minor and does not inhibit a spider from extracting the Text Content from the page then there would be no penalisation. Conversely serious errors such as missing some > closings...

    SEO for UK traffic only

The problem may not actually exist. Some UK Broadband service providers such as AOL connect via the USA and consequently even though a visitor to your Site is located in the UK, they can leave a USA Footprint. This can mount up to be a very significant percentage of total visitors with 50% plus...

Will changing from .com to .uk domain cost me my PR and backlinks

Sorry OWG, I don't often disagree with you, but all this seems to be going a long way round justifying "Not Doing" what is after all a very simple Server Change. It's the right thing to do IMO.

Will changing from .com to .uk domain cost me my PR and backlinks

Google Geo Tool is still a bit patchy and apart from that, to take this option would completely disregard all the other Search Engines. The amount of visitor gains that you would see, would take much effort to achieve by other Optimisation methods. I would not feel happy doing it for one of my...

Will changing from .com to .uk domain cost me my PR and backlinks

I would go for hosting the well established .com on a UK located server. By far the best result and risk free. Domain Name changes should always be avoided unless there is a compelling reason for it and there is no sensible alternative.

How often should I submit my website to the search engines?

You don't need to submit to the major at all. Just get Incoming Links from a couple of sites that are reasonably well Established and the SE Spiders will find you very quickly. If you don't want to wait to be "Discovered Naturally" then just submitting the once when the Site first goes live will...

Different result from pages from the UK

For a .com to perform in a UK search, it must be hosted on a UK Located Server. You have been asked about the hosting several times so why not tell us where your site is Hosted so we can help you ??

Why I Can't See my site on first page of google

I think a home page that has CCTV a total of 18 times in HTML Title, Keyword and Description is "SHOUTING" Spam Spam Spam to Google. You have definitely Over Optimised and what does over optimisation result in, Search Engine Spam that's what. Doing this, has made it extremely difficult to get...

    Ranking in the UK

You have a .com hosted in the USA and that will always struggle to rank in the UK. Change to a UK Located host and you will stand a chance of getting goos positions for UK searches.

    rollover buttons script

Rollover Image Buttons require JavaScript. Links enclosed in JS are seldom followed by Search Engine Spiders. You would be better using CSS to get a spiderable rollover visual effect.

a landing page with loads of meta keywords

You couldn't have got it more wrong. A keyword tag is all but useless nowadays and in any case, should be relevent to the on page content not a SPAMMY wish list of hopeless expectations. These days, I seldom include a KW Tag at all as it serves no purpose. If it was that easy, SEO would be a 10...

    site analysis help

I would just like to correct the html vs xhtml issue from above post. HTML can be full on css and need not use a single table unless you choose to do so. One thing that is important, is to choose a DTD and make sure your code is compliant and as near as possible error free. There are numerous...

    Multiple CSS Style Sheets?

It is common practice to use more than one external CSS File. For example one file for layout and positional control with the other one for text styling etc. CSS stands for "Cascading Style Sheets" The cascading bit is the equivalent of obeying the last order. With multiple external CSS files...

Domain name from SEO view point
