I suspect that happens when people have no clue about programming and/or are non-techy. They may simply not know what else to do....until they come here and read some posts.

Yes, this is true. Problem is when they don`t have a clue, you explain to them, but no, they still want WordPress. The joys of being a Web Developer, thanks God I`m not a Web Designer...I would have gone mad by now.
