Whats the exact difference between the Panda Update and Penguin Update?

Hi folks, well I was just going through some of the major upadates of Google , and i am now so much confused!

I wanted to know, what's the actual difference between Panda Update and Penguin Update?

Google Panda algorithm is basically On page SEO activities and Google Penguin algorithm is basically Off Page SEO activities.
