Title: Why Most Adult Affiliate Campaigns Fail (Even With Traffic)

I’ve been analyzing a few campaigns recently and noticed a pattern.

People are getting traffic
But still not making money

Here’s where things go wrong:

  1. Wrong traffic source
Most are using cheap traffic that doesn’t convert
  2. Offer mismatch
Sending cold traffic to high-commitment offers
  3. No pre-sell layer
    Direct linking kills conversions

What actually improved results for me:

  • Switching to niche-specific traffic instead of broad
  • Adding a simple bridge page
  • Testing low-barrier offers first

Still testing different funnels, but this already improved conversion slightly.

Curious to know:

What’s the biggest issue you faced in adult campaigns?

Great breakdown — the pre-sell layer point is underrated, most people skip it completely-\_(")_/-

One thing worth adding from our side: traffic source quality makes a huge difference in adult, but it also depends heavily on the format. At AdsCompass we work with both mainstream and adult traffic across 200+ GEOs, and adult is honestly where we see the strongest performance.

What's been working well for our advertisers lately:
Push — still solid for adult, especially on tier-2/tier-3 GEOs where CPCs stay low but intent is high
Pop — yes, it's making a comeback, especially for VOD and dating offers
Video — growing fast in adult, high engagement when matched with the right landing

The offer mismatch issue you mentioned is real. We notice it most when advertisers push subscription-based offers to cold pop traffic without any warming step
What GEOs are you currently testing?

Most campaigns fail because broad, cheap traffic just doesn't align with high-commitment offers. At Reacheffect, we've found that the biggest hurdle is usually failing to aggressively blacklist underperforming sources, so sticking to niche-specific traffic and that bridge page is definitely the right move. Feel free to check us out if you're looking to scale that quality.

The warm-up step is probably one of the most underestimated parts right now.
I’ve seen decent traffic fail completely just because the landing flow was too aggressive for cold users.
Video traffic especially seems much more sensitive to mismatch between ad angle and landing expectation lately.
Curious if you noticed differences between tier-1 and tier-3 GEOs in terms of retention or subscription conversion quality?
