Sub domains for landing pages?

I have a domain name that i'm currently not using for anything and can fit just about any subject.

I was wondering what you all think about using sub domains to run multiple mini sites or single page landing pages promoting affiliate products.

I plan to promote the mini sites/landing pages using article marketing as the main method for driving traffic.

Many years ago using subdomains was a good SEO move but I heard that is not so these days. Still, if you have a good domain that fits any subject, it might be worth the effort.

It's not that it's a bad thing these days. It's more that some of the original SEO advantages aren't there or are not as significant as previously.

Basically, the differences between subfolders and subdomains have narrowed considerably from an SEO standpoint.

I still like subdomains for other reasons.
