Margin of Profit...

Take for example many email submits seem to be around the $1.20 - $1.60 mark, so to actually profit from this would be quite difficult would it not? I find that its easy enough to get conversions from email submits but because the pay out is much lower I'm always chasing a loss.

Think about app installs or APKs that pay like $0.1 or $0.2 and people still profit from them sometimes.
It depends on your angles and conversion rates.

A profit is a profit, and sometimes even break even is good!

If your trying to run without monitoring stats on the hour etc, then maybe a 5-10% profit margin, to help make sure you stay in the green. But when testing break even is good - because your close on your targeting.

Sometimes running at an initial loss is ok. It all depends on what your promoting, and your setup.

For instance, say your promoting your own email newsletter in the niche, getting people to sign up for the newsletter. That probably runs at a loss, since your spending $ and directly making $ back. but maybe in your niche, you see in your stats that over a 3 month period, the average email address in your list is worth $4 so its ok to take a $2 loss on the front to get those niche newsletter members.

So with that kinda thing in mind, profit margin is really entirely up to you and the scenario.
