I have a Toshiba laptop and it is a pile of cack.

Don't know the spec, but it cost me £469 about 12 months ago.

After about three months it had to go back for a new mainboard, I only use it if I am really stuck now as it is so damn slow. The battery only lasts about 20 mins as well if I use the 3G card and optical mouse.

personally sony's are not for me - I find it weird having windows on a laptop but maybe its just me? I've always had linux on laptops!

Model Name: MacBook Pro 15"
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Memory: 2 GB (I upgraded from 1gig)
HDD: 100gig
System Version: Mac OS X 10.4.11
Kernel Version: Darwin 8.11.1

I love my rodney! (Rodney Mckay - say it out loud! - its a true stargate joke!!)

I change my laptop every year, this is my 4th Toshiba, there was an interlude when I tried Compaq, it was a waste of money :(

I know a few people with Dell laptops and they seem good and so I might try one of those in the future.

One of the problems with the Toshiba is the small keyboard, I keep hitting the touch pad when I type and it gets me mad lol

I think it depends on the model of Toshiba you have, the keyboard on mine is a standard size, the same size as a desktop keyboards actually (My screen is 17")

their awesome and cheap until something goes wrong - if your good like me and practise safe battery use then you'll be fine but when you need a new powersupply/battery it'll cost you SO much!

I use IBM ThickPad for my travel needs. Bought it about 2 years ago (Win XP-Pro, 3Ghz P4, 1G ram, 15" screen.
One problem - very bad built-in speakers, can't watch movie without head phones.
Otherwise serves it's purpose just fine...

I must admit that I used the laptop for video editing yesterday and it was ok, I expected it to struggle but it did not, and so I guess I can't complain.

I recomend HP.
Mine is awesome.
