Journey to $10.000/month with Adult & Health

Hello guys,
so I decided to open my first Journey thread to motivate myself and others reach their goals. Before I start, I want to say that English is not my native language. Sorry for my future mistakes.:D
I came into this 3 month ago knowing nothing about affiliate marketing. Until now I have spent the time with reading books, threads and learning coding (PHP).
I think I'm ready to start now.

Targeted Goal:
$10.000/month profit within the next 6 month.

Budget:
$5.000

Niches:
Mainly Adult, later Health & Beauty.

Methods:
Display Ads, Native, Popunder and Redirect.

Tracker:
Voluum. They gave me a 30 days trial. But only for 250k events and 1 custom domain.

Traffic sources:
Zeropark, Revcontent, Trafficjunky and Propellerads. I joined also Trafficfactory, but the initial payment is $500 which is too much atm.

Aff Networks:
MB, Adcombo and Crakrevenue. CR support is horrible, no response at all. I don't even know who my AM is. :(

Other Tools:
Adultplexity. Native Later

What i did today:
Created 8 responsive Landers for adult, cleaned js redirects and tracking code, prepared them for tracker. I 'll split test them against each other.
Selected five offers which i think that they will convert well.

Next Steps:
Add Landers and Offers in tracker.
Create 2 ZP campaigns for mobile to gather data.
Research how to catch and redirect bots.
Voluum has only a limit of 50 IP addresses / IP ranges filtering rules. For each rule also a limit of 50 lines. Which is not much.
I think i will filter out there only certain ip ranges and user agents.
Research how exactly trafficjunky works.
They have a inhouse tracking, idk if i should use this for display ads instead of own tracker.

Thoughts:
So many journeys are no longer updated anymore for some reason. Probably because of a failure. What I've learned in the last few months is that 95% of the time is testing. I think most people neglecting this point and this might be the main reason of failure. I don't want end like this, that's why i'm going to test a lot. :D

Whether it is a failure or a success, I will update every 1-3 days in the next 6 months.
It would be a pleasure for me if you guys share your views and experience with me.

Thank you!:)

Best of luck but a word of advice: Spend the money on ads slowly testing. Be patient until you find a combination that works.

Also, your goal should be economic: I want to spend $10 on a customer *acquisition that gives me a $___ ROI within $x (days|months|years). Once that *works* then you can try to scale it up.

perfect, i have explained that in my cpa tutorial from here.
you can check it, it's a real case study.
Thx man! Very usefull, especially that bucket policy thing! :)

Thank you man! I'm learning fast and pretty confident that i will master this. :)

Good luck on this Reinstecker!
Thank you Sam!:)

UPDATE:

Researching ways to block bot traffic has cost me a lot of time.
Thanks to @NeverGiveUp's thread, @Graybeard comments and the website theoptimizer.io (article here) i managed to prepare the landers against bots. Now i'm ready for the fight. :D

I have also adplexity native now. After few hours playing around and in combination with other tools, i found a solid way to reverse engineer most likely profitable campaigns, landers and offers that are other marketers currently running. Some of these presale landers have over 5mio visits monthly. I cant imagine how much money these guys make.:D

Skipped trafficjunky research part, no time for this atm.

Has someone experience with Zeropark traffic?
They have premium, standard and remnant traffic, each with different price range.
I don't know with which i should start and is the traffic quality difference really that big?

UPDATE:
Seems ZP isnt a good place for quality traffic.
I messed up with settings, result was this :D
fdf.png

After 4 different small campaigns, with 6 different landers and 4 different offers, 0 conversion :(
Screenshot_7.png

Botcatch working. I expected way more %.
Screenshot_6.png

And the CTR between OS is also insane. suspicious
Screenshot_5.png

and this

I'll keep testing different angles. Any ideas what i could do better?

remove google analytics from your landing page, it's going to help with anything, it's just going to slow you landing page.

Don't always run boot trap landers, maybe run it with only 10% of your traffic only to detect bad placements lot of redirections effects your pop campaign.

_ compress you landing page images .

keep going, cus you have just spent 10USD :).

good luck.

good things will happen.

Thx for the tip! I've bought your service btw :D

PhantomJS ^^^ surprised? JavaScript parsing bots?
You want to time release that traffic 500 hits an hour maybe.
Also, the bounce rate and the actual sessions compared to the gross traffic count matter.
If that is pop traffic you will need many 10's of thousands to get a conversion
remove google analytics from your landing page
I think it's really more of an issue with the recorded bounce rate and time duration for pop traffic landing pages --elGoog doesn't need that data :p if you hope for any SEO in the future ;)

Very interesting thread here @Reinstecker i will be following. Unfortunately i dont have much experise in media buying, so not much value i can add to this thread, as i am where you where 1,5/2 months ago :)
Will be following closely though and might ask some stupid questions on the way!

Good luck with everything, really hope you will make it to the 10k as soon as possible!

Thx man! You can ask what you want :D

UPDATE:
Screenshot_15.png

After testing 6 campaigns( one still running), this is my result. 3 conversions but - ROI overall.
Negative ROI is more in reality, the cost of 2 camp I have not adjusted yet.

I'm happy that I have conversions at all. :D
3 conversions are from 1 campaign. I let that run for another couple days and then try optimizing.

Im testing also Mgid and Adnow. Mgid still didn't approve my ads. :(

Stay tuned friends! :D

What do you mean by *adult*
Porn, Cams, Dating or other -- or a combination?

Well, 200k of popups is less that $400 -- you have to set limits. Buy 1K or 2K at a time and test things.
You may spend a few hundred in ads and a few thousands in your time trying to make something work. Make sure that the return is there to justify it.

Good luck but be careful though, adult is a heavily competitive niche and there are lots of guys with big budgets and intenal media buying teams that can outbid and outspend you any time. Just to keep that in mind, it's quite hard to break through as a small budget affiliate

perfect @Reinstecker, am flowing this.
-28ROI is a good start .

Yes, true!
That one campaign saves the complete loss. :D

What are you selling and is it one-time payout or is it a recurring sale like a %rev-share?

ROI and ROMI are not the same ...
a conversion that is a rev-share customer acquisition is ROMI.

Cant tell exactly what i'm selling.:p
It's adult and not the usual thing that most people promote. It's a one time payout.

Thank you!:D
I knew that before i started. Thats why i also do non adult native ads.

UPDATE:
After 2 days of waiting for MGID approval, they rejected my ads, lol.
Started revcontent too, created two test campaigns, each with 3 ads. Waiting for approval
Adnow has low traffic for T1 countries. Clicks of 2 days o_O
Screenshot_17.png

I'm gonna research offers and landers for T2 countries and test them in Adnow.

Have a nice day! :)
