How to get started with copywriting?

Perhaps, the best tip I can give is to know your audience. You should know what people, who you are writing for, feel, what thoughts they have and their motivation to follow your commercial advice.

Excellent advice! Otherwise you're just throwing crap against the wall to see what sticks.

Definitely must and applies to different industries as well. And be aware of the SEO aspect of things if you're writing for digital (let's say website, socials, etc)

I'm in the B2B space and I'm not only assigned to write for their website but I'm also assigned to help ramp up our organic search presence. A friend actually recommended this piece and said that it might help me write better in terms of being consistent since the article lays down how we can convince search engines, how to deliver value-based intents, and how SEO works in a B2B setting.

If I may add, I think Purdue University has some good reads about writing. Try browsing through that as well. Their materials really helped me in terms of writing more consistently.

There is nothing difficult to become a copywriter, however as any other kidns of activity it requires plenty of experience and skills. On your initial stages at copywriting, if you are going to work as a freelancer, then perhaps you will be working for free or for reviews, because customers always pay attention to reviews on freelance platforms. Don't be afraid of wirting for reviews, it's a great experience for you and it affords you to gain knowledge in copywriting. When you will get rnough reviews you will be able to write for money. In my opinion, this is the best option for beginners.

Beside all the tips other members give you, I'd say don't forget how the headlines are important. this may sound so basic .. but it is SO effecctive

Hey Friends,

I am a beginner in Copywriting. Any tips you want to share with the community and me which will help me be a better copywriter?

Thanks
You should always think about the reader, put yourself in his/her shoes, try to understand what your audience would like to read, how the text could help them in some way, it requires some psychological approach if you want to make the best out of your content. It's also important that text flows naturally, and that it contains some kind of storytelling so that readers fill that all parts are connected and related to each other.

Copywriters don’t need formal training or education.
