Make sure your markup does not have any unnecasary or unsupported attributes etc. The more concise your markup the better the load times.

Run you pages through the W3C compliance checker to identify unsupported attributes and take them out unless they are there to support some browser oddity or something.

Thanks for the tips. I do know most of these, but some was new to me. Another great "tip" is to never let your index.html/php have a larger file size than 100kb.

i think you just need to made a good cache for your site, so that you just need one time to load your website, and another time will be very fast load

post two cant be emphasised enough, reducing the filesize in the 1st place is likely the simgle biggest thing you can do, but few people do it!

you should do this

you web design should be in such a way that your table structure must be easier.
if possible then make use of div element.
cut big images in to smaller images.

But today's Internet speed of most people (minimum today is 1.5Mb/sec) can easily download very big images and animations. Moreover, there are many monster sites today (gaming fan-sites for example) that are very heavy and big. We are progressing and no need to work too hard for getting your site smaller or faster. No need in this now. Now we are writing programs in VS but not in assembler. There are some applications that need it, but most of it - not.
