How Long Should it Take to Get Traffic?

A lot of people give up on promoting a website before they ever reach their full potential. There seems to be something of a mistaken belief that we should be able to create a new website, fill it with content and then start making a full-time income in a matter of months.
This is not the case. In fact, it is far from the truth.

Instead, it will likely take a year if not several years until you eventually reach that point. You may never reach that point and you should never take it as a given.
If you take a look at some of the biggest brands on the web and the biggest names on the web, you might think they have it easy and you might wish that you had their website.

But guess what? They probably wished the same thing a few years back. Most big blogs and sites will admit that it took them years before they gained traction!
Of course, there are certain things you can do to speed up the process. A number of growth hacks can really work and most of those big sites do describe there being some kind of catalyst or turning point at which they started to gain momentum – maybe they were shared in the local paper or they got a link from a big site.
These things tend to be the result of luck rather than their effort but they made that luck by continuously plugging away and by creating those kinds of opportunities.
But the single most important thing that all these sites did and that they have in common, is that they didn’t give up. If you are tempted to give up on your site because it hasn’t become massive overnight, then you will never know if you might have started to see rapid growth in the next month. Or the month after.

This is why it is so important to make sure that you are truly passionate about the topic that you cover. If you’re not, then you won’t have the drive to keep on writing even when the views aren’t there. The other thing to keep in mind is that your growth will be exponential. The more views you get and the more influence, the easier it is to get even more views and even more influence. So don’t give up!

@shehan, I am not a blogger so I don't know how long it will take before getting traffic, anyone reading a follow-along here can get an idea on how long it can take... Obviously, results are not typical or guaranteed...

<off topic> What is it with you promoting all these different downloads? It feels like you would gain much more by participating in the forum discussions - ask questions - comment - answer questions...

@shehan I don't need any offline assistance...
I wondered why you were posting so many different things each in a new thread and your reply is redirecting again to offsite resources
If you have working tactics, please demonstrate them in a follow-along thread or case study...

:rofl:rofl:rofl

1 --> You can register domain, hosting, SSL, install plugins and build a professional Wordpress (using stable theme) website in 1-2 hours
2 --> You can write or outsource enough content to start ranking on the 1st page of Google, and get traffic, for competitive queries (keyword volume 1,000+ per month) within 1-3 weeks
3 --> You can earn $1,000 per month within the 1st 3 months

I know all these things from personal experience, not saying it's easy, but dedicated people can do this

Then you haven't read any of threads here, you just keep posting W+ products to take members off-site and into your funnels, which is strictly against our TOS .

Check out threads by @Honeybadger and @shaunm , for examples of dedicated affiliates who created websites and made enough to live on in a matter of months.

It takes dedication, determination and work but it most certainly can so be done! Without gimmicks or having to buy programs.

So don’t give up!
That is great advice, one we often mention to members. However, I do hope you'll give up spamming here.

This is a very nice write up and true too. But on the part of the big bang happening, It's both luck and their effort, you don't just get lucky without preparation.

Also another thing I want to add is that, getting traffic is one thing, retaining that traffic is another thing. So if you don't have all awesome contents on your website, or the visitors on your website don't get what they are looking for, then you are about to lose most of that lucky traffic that you just got. This is why it is important to try and be top-notch! in whatever you do on your website from the go!
