how do i make a banner

There are several ways and places to make banners, on your computer with supplied programs (Word, snipping tool, Paint; any graphic program you have) or online in places like Bannerfans. There are lots of button creation sites, too. Put 'em altogether and you've got a unique and eye-catching banner.

Hi Azeking, making banners is an art in some ways.

1. Do you have experience at creating an ad? Banner Ads are an extension and/or an alter ego of a contextual ad. You need to be able to create a banner that will cause user action.

2. There are banner specialists that can be found in many forums, including this one, in the "for hire" section. We have a couple of banner people here that will gladly build banner for you.

3. If you want to build your own banners, the you need to first decide where the banners are going to be displayed and build your banners for the sizes they permit. Website owners, media networks, etc., all have specific sizes they are willing to work with.

If you are new to this, then spend some time learning which sizes you need and what offers they are being made for. If you have photoshop, and know how to use it, I suggest building a bunch of banners that you think will work. Then do some research looking for banners that are already out there. Once you have these, compare them to what you made and make refinements to your own so they have some resemblance to what is currently out there.

Once you have gone through these stages, you will have a enough experience to start putting your own banners to work for your campaigns. They won't all work, get used to this. You can have a banner work great one day and have it flop the next. You will see patterns in what works and what doesn't after a while. There is no getting around having to go through the "learning curve phase".

In addition, keep in mind that banners should be rotated during campaigns and they also need to be rotated in and out of campaigns. banner blindness occurs at some point and banner theft occurs regularly. Remember, there are spy tools that many of us use to determine what banners are working, what landers are working, etc. When we find someone elses successful campaign, we have a tendency to make a "knock off" for ourselves. You should do thee same in addition to making your own creative banners.
