Just what the title says.
  • What offered FREE is usually a lead on for suckers.
  • However, FREE! still works.
  • Most people are gullible
===============
Amazingly, FREE! has worked like forever.

Time is money --go find a day job and you will understand what your time is worth

  • Free Android App -- Install this and your smartphone is now an ad tracking device!
  • Free Newsletter -- email ads delivered to your inbox daily!
  • Free Chrome Browser -- send all your surfing data to the mother ship (elGoog)
  • Free porn -- copyright infringement and a downward spiral of website and affiliate income.
  • Free banking -- no so bad but they constantly are emailing and snail mailing you upsells (loans - credit cards)
  • Free love -- costly divorce :D
Want more FREE!

I forgot FREE TRIAL!

The last one makes me laugh. That is where i have made a lot of money, and a lot of the merchants i work with now work in that space :).

But i agree that most people are gullible but they also don't think to read terms. Which should be priority one when seeing anything that sounds to good to be true, but it feeds a lot of advertisers.

Free trial does work -- the chargebacks come when the trial expires and the reoccurring charges start.
When you deal with MID's and credit card processing you learn this fast.

Most freebies are shady. Good bait for suckers.
I have to wonder about the creative commons 3.0 licensing for images too ...

The only real 'free' things I have found are GNU software, Apache License 2.0, MIT licensing >>generally Open Source.

***BSD License too (forgot)

Depending on geo, chargebacks comes after a certain amount of time and it gets worst after 2-3 months. When you get passed that, it is normal and you now know what you are to expect.

The sole purpose of staying alive in "free trial" is to manage chargebacks, anything else is not vital.

well today the CB max is 1% -- that is a razor thin edge

I am trying to set something up with XLM and hyperledger
but the value of Stellar crypto is tanking so fast even as a transactional currency ...

That and the recurring transaction -- no CB with Crypto

Fuck VISA-net they are really a dinosaur that either must adapt or die ...

Free love -- costly divorce

:D:D:D

Yes, FREE can mean a bombardment of ads for consumers but I guess it can be viewed as a tool for affiliates. Some might use it to raise money so they aren't trading so much time for money, maybe it can also be a learning tool before launching into the paid traffic arena.

That's assuming they can make it work, of course.

But i agree that most people are gullible but they also don't think to read terms.

And then they get mad when things work out differently than they expected.

Although, I can't throw too many stones. Depending on what site I'm on, I only skim terms, at best. If it's a site like Amazon, for example, I don't read them at all if I'm buying something.

No but those brands you trust, even though if you looked through they still take advantage of you. Any site and even banks do that, so it is a world of what is respected and what is not. But people should be able to take more responsibility to what they sign up for and stop being so damn trusting in something online! Read terms or pay the price :).....
