Hey everyone,

I’ve been reading through this forum for a while, and I’ve noticed that many of you have real, hands-on experience in affiliate marketing — much more than what you usually find on YouTube or in random tutorials.

I’m a developer with solid experience — I can quickly build and deploy websites, landing pages, and tracking setups (frontend + backend).
What I’m missing, however, is marketing experience — understanding how to choose offers, optimize campaigns, and scale them effectively.

That’s why I’m looking for:
  • A mentor or experienced affiliate marketer willing to share practical insights,
  • Or someone who’d like to collaborate — I can handle all the technical / development work, and you focus on traffic, ads, and strategy.

I’m willing to put in the work, test campaigns, and reinvest profits to grow steadily.
There’s a lot of information out there, but it’s hard to filter what’s actually useful — I’d rather learn directly from someone who’s already been through the process.

If you’re open to sharing some guidance or even partnering up, please drop me a message or reply here.
I’d really appreciate any advice or direction to start the right way.

Mentors do not exist in the marketing space. All those that call themselves a mentor in this business are just looking for a paycheck in one way or another. True mentors hand pick their protégé's and rarely work with more than one at a time. They never do this in our space and they never work with newbies in any space. They only work with successful and established individuals on the same track as themselves and they never seek monetary remuneration from their protégé's.

I have never understood why anyone would want to learn from a single person instead of a community of individuals. When I started in this particular field back in the mid 90's I learned from a few dozen of those that already had highly successful businesses in our space and they all contributed enough of their knowledge with us in a couple of forums online so we could get to a steady monthly ROI. Many of them would then pitch their advanced training courses to those of us that proved to be serious about it all. They never wanted true newbies because only around 10% of newbies actually are willing to do the work and make the proper investment. Those same numbers are still true today. Those guys did not want to associate themselves with the 90% quitters. They only wanted to teach advanced techniques for a price and to those that proved themselves to be good student that had proven themselves as a newbie.

I’d really appreciate any advice or direction to start the right way.

You start by research, study, and participation with a community of marketers. Look for those in communities with a long history of building their Whitehat businesses and like to share their previous experiences as a newbie and willingness to help you get independent. I can tell you as a matter of fact that all of us with well established businesses do the same things we did as newbies. We research, study, test, and implement everyday. EVERYDAY! The landscape has for 30 years changed daily. That will always be the case and therefore requires all of us to have time in our day to research and study.

Once you developed a steady monthly ROI in your business as a newbie, you are ready to start building a team of independent contractors so you can scale big, and when I say big I mean REALLY BIG. It happens fast because when you continue building a business by using outside talents to work each area of production you had to do yourself as a newbies you suddenly have the strength and power of half a dozen additional minds already trained to do the job of creatives, copy, accounting, etc.

Learn to do it yourself before you jump into getting a team because you need to know how to do it the way you want it done before you ask and monitor a person on your staff to do it.

Hard work, persistence, and perseverance are no strangers to me. Back in 2020, I started my career as a developer with only minimal knowledge of web application development, and over time I grew into building complex web apps. That took a lot of effort—long hours of study, sometimes working 24 hours straight to keep up with tasks, even though I was only paid for 8. For me, what mattered most was the result and becoming better every day. At some point though, I realized I needed a field that could scale more, which is why I decided to give affiliate marketing a try.
Thank you very much for your advice—it really means a lot.
