Hi guys, I've been reading that many of the super affiliates are talking about creating a brand, that traditional affiliate marketing is already changing. What do veterans say in the business? Brand or traditional affiliate marketing (mediabuying, creating landing pages and sending traffic) will always work? What do those who have been here for years say?

Both can work.

These people you're reading about are more or less getting out of the straight media buying game to make a more sustainable business. It could be e-commerce, a SAAS, etc.

Yeah I mean eventually you should think about using the profits you make to make something more stable... unless you want to manage campaigns for the rest of your life.

Brand can be used as a very general term -- that is this example probably ...
All branding has name recognition as the principal factor.
  • Nike is a brand -- a branded *name* manufacturer of hard goods
  • IBM is a brand-- a branded *name* manufacturer of hard goods
  • Apple is a brand-- a branded *name* manufacturer of hard goods and digital product/services
  • Amazon is a branded business domain as a seller of goods -just as- Target is a branded *name* retailer
... many of the super affiliates are talking about creating a brand, ...

Talking mostly shit (no doubt) unless branding of the cult of personality counts :D

In the loosest sense, white labeling or private labeling and marketing that (slapping a label on the jar) could be considered branding also.

Having a page one domain on a popular search term might be considered branding as to leads to name recognition also ...

Brands have trademarks or possibly Patent protection
If you intend to spend the *substantial money* to brand -- trademark the name in the beginning.
