link exchange is effect to promote your website

Yes, they are helpful in increasing your site's link popularity as long as you only exchange link with other sites that are relevant to your niche.

I agree.
The best ones are inbound link, but also link exchanges are very good if done with websites with the same arguments.
It is better to avoid too many link exchanges with not related websites, I think it could be dangerous.

It's really better to stick with exchanging links with sites that are related to your niche because google gives more credit on that. It really gives more weigh on the relevancy of the other site to your site.

Yes, I think so. But it will be more helpful if links come from related topic with your site.

Yes it is,

Yes it is,

But there are other things which also matters such as

  • Directory Submission
  • Forum posting
  • Social Bookmarking
  • Yahoo Answers
  • Classified Submission

You cannot neglect any of them for your website.

What if i have more links but ther are not related to my website.
Will i go still upword in search engion?

yes it is effective if you are linked to high PR websites but too much link exchange might also drop your SEO and stop growth of your website..

Don't neglect link exchange share your link with your related business then it will be considered as a quality back link. Keep in mind that don't exchange your links with unrelated sites, then you will be spammed..So be careful while performing link exchange..Thanks for writing..

Link exchange is one of the toughest thing to promote your site ,just be careful choosing a site to link to.

yeah......

because, the only way to have an link partner is through email...

and sometimes the only consider those email messages as spam :p

Dear ADM, nowadays link exchange is the easiest way to get higher PR and to get the site crawl by search engines without submitting it to search engines.
The higher site you reciprocal the higher will be your PR.

Stay away from Reciprocal Links, if its for the reason that directories require one, then simply move on to the next directory, you should stay away from Reciprocal Links, for the same reason that you should stay away from paid links. Beeing that they could potientially harm your sites ranking. And that isn't worth the risk if you ask me, some however don't mind taking such risks.

Having to many reciprocal links is a clear indication that they are intended to manipulate your PageRank, and it would really be easy for google to find and punish your site, in a way that would effect your ranking negatively.

If those links appears to be unrelated, then its even easier for google to determine with certainty that you are trying to manipulate your PageRank.

You should also read: Link schemes - Webmasters/Site owners Help

This dose not mean that you cant have dofollow linkpartners, you just shouldn't exchange links with irrelevant sites. And if you sell links on your website, you should make sure to add a nofollow tag to avoid the risk of getting punished by search engines.

This is very wrong, just so the wrong way to go about it.

Free links aren't worth much and are devalued by search engines. Forum posting? - I like to say I bought something from a webmaster, and give you guys some hope, but must tell you I'd never buy any service, link or product off a forum.

Social bookmarking, the audience is wrong for even general websites, it's just the wrong target visitors and won't convert well enough to see decent money.

Yahoo Answers is a terrible idea, like blogs now we have encouraged spam, it won't convert as people dont go there to buy services

Classifed submission - it's a little sad that so many just don't get what the web is for, and making money is very hard to do. You have to think outside the normal marketing trashy ways, outside the box and NOT advertise/link on the same places as every other bugger out there. Each time you copy what others do, you lower yourself, look unoriginal, won't stand out and yeah these cheap sites might be free, but this isn't where the money is nor will the businesses with money frequent. You are putting links on totally the wrong places, attracting the wrong traffic.

Businesses with real money and budgets don't visit these trashy places, so you'll never be found by anything quality. Webmasters have the capacity to attract a good income, okay, some sites will never make money and that's a fact, but the ones with potential still follow the bad advice, and will suffer the same fate.

Businesses with real buying power advertise on search engines and specialist sites, so that's exactly where you need to advertise.

But these days webmasters seem to neglect link exchange request. So go for one way.... That all the SEO gurus tell you to do...

But it's this 'go for one way freebies' that get you booted out of anything decent. So few sites, even directories that allow a free-one way link.

Everything costs and any good website shouldn't be open to spam, so if you want a good link then you have to pay. All this link swap stuff is useless, it won't attract good links in return, the sites that recip, won't get traffic so not even that to look forward to.

there are always those that will pursue free links, some don't like spending and others don't have the cash. if you don't pay, you don't get in - it's that simple. If the biggest benefit of some webmaster site is the bragging about backlink count or PR, then it doesn't have anything to offer and gets ignored and clicked away from.

It is surely helpful if the site you did link exchange with is getting decent traffic as visitors usually look for relevant sites as well
