So I have been reading up on affiliate marketing and trying some things out that didn't lead to anything great.
I am trying to find an affiliate marketing for my niche, which is skateboarding, whether clothing or equipment.
I have also been trying to figure out landing pages. I understand the purpose but I can't connect it to what it does for the offer.

It's hard being a newbie without getting some proper training. You need to find a platform that takes you by the hand and guides you through everything. Then you know you're doing it right. That's how I started. I can't leave you any links here, it's against the rules. But searching online for affiliate marketing training should help.
