Hey everyone?

Who thinks that AI platforms like openAI and Grok will eventually replace search engines like google and bing in the nearest future?

It's pretty clear at the moment they will remain blended for the foreseeable future. They need to to mature their integration before any advances towards autonomy for AI is accepted completely.

Yes and no, it depends on whether it's a simple answer or it searches the web, finds an answer, then gives you a relevant paragraph and link.
Sometimes AI cites; credible websites and sometimes they are what I would consider fringe quality websites, which would require deeper investigation.

I don’t think AI platforms will fully replace search engines anytime soon. Personally, I use AI a lot for information and explanations. But when it comes to searching for products, places, or events, I still find traditional search more helpful. I’ve also noticed I’m using image/video search, and the shopping tab more often than before. Curious to see how that evolves!

It's a tricky question to answer. Right now, I don't think people have completely switched to AI search, as the above user told. We still rely on search engines. But, considering the tremendous growth of AI every passing day, it is definitely going to play a significant role in the future. I'm sure search engines will work around and continue the competition for a long time.

No. ChatGPT is not a full replacement for Google Search, at least in the short term. There are many reasons that Google remains the dominant search engine on the internet. Google effectively serves its users' needs. Same , with Bing .

Low-key, it’s already happening. ‍
ChatGPT just hit #1 in traffic growth for May 2025. People are clearly starting to ask AI instead of searching the old-school way.

But many users are reporting:
Unexpected account bans
⚠️ Mysterious error messages
Key features suddenly unavailable
Not sure if you're banned or how to fix it?
I found a blog by AdsPower that breaks it all down — hope it helps you too!

Probably won't even be called a search engine because searching is just one thing it will do. They are now calling it delegating goals, not just show me something I'm looking for, actually do it for me. AI is being used for programmable value and autonomous coordination. Using blockchain and web3 for trust and identity verification. Don't just search for holiday destinations, organize and pay for the whole trip and itinerary for example. Maybe not for things your wife shouldn't know about though ;) Most people incorrectly believe blockchain is same as crypto and vis a vis, is not, it is the architecture of everything new. Biggest losers will be the old industry that relied on content in exchange for traffic (and then $). Now needs to do something useful through things like automation and smart contracts. The word they use is 'Coordination'.
