If you don't need any hand-holding you should go with Sublime Text or Atom by GitHub.

I used to be a huge fan of sublime. Eventually I gave Atom I try though and I haven't looked back. Took me a few ours to set it up with themes and packages until it felt like "my" editor, though ;)

I'd say that Atom is still the best out there. Sublime Text is also good ;)

The best code editor is the one which you fell more comfortable. Some of the simplest are: Notepad++, Sublime Text, Visual Studio.

You don't have to use heavy IDEs for coding unless you need some of their features.

If you create the website then Best text editor will save your time and help to work more efficiently. If you will find the text editor on the search engine (Google) and you will get the many editors. But, I prefer the Sublime Text editor, because it is lightweight, powerful, Time saves, fully customizable, Support for TextMate and Windows Decoration themes and many other features under the sublime. Before I worked to do the coding on Notepad++ but it does not provide the feature as compared to the Sublime Text editor.

Microsoft Visual Studio and Brackets do the job for me. They both work great and have tons of features.

Atom and Dreamweaver are the most popular choice. No actually they're the only choices you have, I don't know any other one.
