Weird Google SERP glitch? Brand names completely disappearing from search

Just wanted to see if anyone else is dealing with this lately. Over the past few days, I've noticed Google doing something really weird with exact brand name searches.

It seems like for certain sites, if you search their exact brand name, Google just completely refuses to show their actual domain in the results. For example, I was looking up a social tool called fameviso earlier today. If you just type the keyword "fameviso" into G, their main site (fameviso com) literally doesn't show up anywhere. No direct links, nothing. But the site is definitely still indexed if you do a "site:" search or type the full URL with the .com.

I've seen this happen with a couple of other random brands this week too.

Is G rolling out some weird update that affects brand keywords, or is this just a temporary indexing hiccup? Anyone else seeing this with their own money sites or competitors? Let me know.

It is because it is a scam site! They sell followers and views. This is a violation of their TOS and it is a violation of the sites they are applied to.

SE's are battling against Blackhat and bullshit.

Works using the full domain name—with the extension (domain string).

Google says buy an ad for your brand? Have you tried other "known" brands without the full name string?

I've noticed similar behavior on a few sites recently. If the pages are still indexed with a site: search but don't appear for exact brand-name queries, it could be related to a temporary ranking or serving issue rather than deindexing. Google has been making frequent changes to search systems, and these kinds of fluctuations sometimes happen during rollouts.

I'd monitor it for a few days before making major changes. It would also be worth checking Google Search Console for any manual actions, indexing issues, or security warnings. Curious to see if more people are experiencing the same thing.
