Hi, I know there are different legal method to promote CPA offer, such as ppc, ppv, seo and the list go on.
But I suddenly have an idea pop in my mind...

Is it possible to just make a video and post them on youtube, with our affiliate link somewhere in description?
For example in game niche, can we just make a video featuring a specific game, and put our affiliate link somewhere?

I'm not sure is this a stupid way to get traffic, but I feel kind of curious will this work.

By the way, which category of promotion this is under? (PPV, Contection, Display....)
I'm not sure which offer they allow us to promote using video method.
For example, some offer only accept contextual, some only accept email~

Yes you can Depends, some networks it's "Social" some its "contextual". Ask your AM about it. The big 'trick' is to use vagex to get you views likes and comments. Once you have that AND you are on the top spots you will see a lot of conversions depending on the niche. BTW, your video will take some time to rank, but as long as you don't have much competition it is very easy
