Three Important Must-Haves for Search Engine Optimization

If you truly want to succeed in the SEO industry, there are 3 absolutes that much be included on your website. WIthout these, most Search Engines – such as Google, MSN, Yahoo, and Bing – will consider a website without these 3 absolutes less value than a website that has gone beyond expectations. For some of the following information, you will need to add your physical address and/or phone number and/or email.

#1 Absolute – Add a “Terms of Service” Page with Address and Phone Number and Email. This is important so you’re clients viewing your website can either physically or digitally contact you. Google does not like websites where it’s almost near impossible to get ahold of the Webmaster, and this will contribute to keeping your website’s SERPs and TrustRank from rising.

#2 Absolute – Don’t Backlink for PageRank. When Google finds out that your website has been linking to a website strictly to get higher PageRank (and they will find out), not only do you have the possibility of increasing value to your site, but if it’s bad enough, Google may even blacklist your website from their Search. You absolutely do not want this to happen, so whatever you do, do not try to buy or trade for these links!

#3 Absolute – Make Sure Your Website has “Contact Us” and “Privacy Policy”.. If you’ve ever made note of the websites that rank higher on Google, you would notice that almost every single website on the first page will have all three of these. Adding a “Terms of Service” and “Privacy Policy” page will add a more legitimate value to your website. Google knows that most spamers will not take the time to add these crucial pages, so it’s almost a dead giveaway.

As soon as these modifications have been added to your website, use Fetch as Google to start recrawling your website. It may take up to a few weeks for Google to reindex all your pages with the new modifications, but the quicker you do it, the faster it will be done.

Great ! Adding some more points here though :

1. Having a sitemap is really important : One for search engine , primarily in xml and clear layout for readers ! Google checks ease of use of website !
2.As suggested by kyle add , name or email address of author or admin as a metatag like :

<META NAME="author" CONTENT="Vipul Taneja">
<META NAME="copyright" CONTENT="You are free to use the any material on the site as long as you provide a backlink to the site">
<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="INDEX, FOLLOW">
3. Robots.txt files needs to be there !

This is "the big advantage", if you live in with laws inundated Germany!
Every website in Germany must have an imprint with the complete physical address and all this other legal stuff !
It´s required by law. If you don´t have that imprint visibly on your site then you can get an official warning from a lawyer :p
