This could help:

- Use a tweet scheduling app to post tweets when more people are likely to see them.
- Retweet content you like. The more you do it, there'll be lots of people following you hoping that you'll retweet their content.
- Use tools like Tweetadder to find people who might follow you.
- Twitter chats. If you participate in twitter chats odds are you'll get more followers.

It's pretty basic and self explanatory:

1. Follow the fans of popular accounts in the same niche.
2. Like the post above, use a tweet scheduling app.
3. Post with hashtags.
4. See the post above me.

You also need to figure out that what time your targeted audience would like to see your content or mostly get connected to social apps in your time zone. It will help to publish your content that time and get more views.

Below is my twitter strategy and it works great!

1. Make one official account, follow the top most fellas in your niche
2. Interact with top guys of the world by replying to them.. If you are a fan of Keira Knightley, you can practically convey your message to her through tweet. (I'm not sure whether she even has an account, just sharing an idea)
3. Make one puppet account for each URL you wanna promote.
4. Using puppet accounts, socialze as much..

I can't explain every step here.. You know how I drill.. follow my strategy in 100% manual manner.. and see the results within 4-6 weeks.

Using programs like Tweetadder like the user above suggested is a good way to go. I do not have any personal experience with using a program like that, but I do know of several people who have and they claim that it made a really big difference when it came to their followers. As long as the content is there the users will come, it is just a matter of finding them and drawing them in.

I have used something similar to Tweetadder called Tweepi. You can follow a few hundred people every few days. But once you start to seem "spammy" to them, they lock your account and you have to verify it via phone number. I had like 15 accounts doing this until some got locked, and now since I obviously have one phone I can't add anybody else because it recognizes the accounts all share a phone number. I'll try Tweetadder.

But definitely try Tweepi and I'd say shoot for following 100-200 people every few days. You can follow people of any account, so if you have a food account, you can follow people who follow "FoodPorn" or something like that.

I would never use any App to participate on a social portal, our procedures are as simple and real..

  1. Log in
  2. Observe research the features of the portal
  3. Interact with fellas in sensible manner
  4. Share your link where possible
  5. log out
Using apps for making links is last thing I would do. I mean, I won't do it

Such apps are too dumb IMO. Google is about to unleash it's wrath on automated link makers, matter of time..

You have to engage other users. They might respond and thus increase your account's visibility. You also have to post interesting stuff which will likely result in some of your followers retweeting your posts thus, again, increasing your visibility. Another way is to use H tags. People actually do use them to see what's up about a certain subject.

Unless you’re a celebrity, you’re going to have to work at building an initial following on Twitter. Instead of a slow-and-steady progression, treat your Twitter account like a short-term addiction. Make it your top priority for a month or two, double down and create lots of content.

1. Utilize your LinkedIn LNKD +4.86% and email connections
2. Use a timesaving tool to schedule your tweets.
3. Join a Twitter chat.
4. Respond to people who are interested in similar content.
5. Tweet inspirational quotes.
6. Follow users who follow your followers.
7. Follow the accounts recommended by Twitter.

Other Points which other user forgot are -
  1. Use twitter ads to promote you business.
  2. Promote a #tag related your business with twitter.
  3. Create quiz and engage with users.
  4. Share on other platforms like facebook that you are on twitter and ask fans to follow you there.

In order to build your twitter, you can do cross-stream sharing. If you share your tweets on facebook, you can have some of your facebook followers follow you on twitter. Interaction can also gain followers. Alternatively, you can also buy followers vy sites such as fanslave.
