We know that with the use of CSS, placement of content divs can be
anywhere. And the benefit of a search engine crawling the code on your site
to find relevant content that they can index, to pull out for their search queries.

That's a good on-page optimization technique.
So I wanted to ask you all that hand-code your sites if you do this?

To show relevant text first most of the time I place "headers" of my sites in the end of the page.

Yes, absolute positionning with CSS

Many people don't like absolute positioning with fluid sites, but as long as you position
left/right within block level elements that are positioned relatively, the AP element will
sit within the fluid framework.
