Hey, guys. We want to share our experience and advice on working with Rehab (Drug and Alcohol Addiction Recovery) offer through Search and Native ads.
Rehab industry is pretty tough for lead generators for the following reasons:
Landing page
We’ve developed a simple landing page on Wordpress. We get commission only for qualified calls (Pay Per Call), that’s why the main CTA (call to action) on the page is phone call or immediate call back function. Make sure you make your landing page mobile-friendly as most of calls come from mobile devices.
We used ad materials and texts from the website of our advertiser, so it wasn’t a big deal for us.
Search ads advertising
We can't say which keywords generated most hot phone calls, but we can share the semantics we collected. Download it in the attachment below.
The main issue with both Google and Bing was getting ad campaigns approved. Even though we had Legitscript certificate and we used the advertiser’s domain name, Google and Bing still automatically suspended our accounts and we had to spend a lot of time speaking and chatting with support to get the ads running.
Some of affiliates find similar keywords that are approved by Google and Bing without Legitscript certificate, but the quality of traffic is a bit worse.
The best way to make an ad if you are a newbie is to analyze competitors' ads and make a compilation of it. We’ve included in attachment best examples of ads to help you make your own ad.

As we faced major issues with getting search campaigns running, we wanted to test some alternative traffic source without strict moderation. Our choice was native ads and Taboola platform.
We used several targeting options in Taboola:
We used Taboola library to choose pictures for our campaign, but some of them were not approved by Taboola moderators. Try not to pick up very aggressive pictures.
Then you just have to make up dozens of texts and compile them with pictures. Then you have to run all of them on a small budget to get statistics on which have better CTR.
Also, you have to check if any of the websites of native network send you bot traffic or misclick traffic. You can set up bot traps to define bot traffic sources and minimize it. Native ads can give you a huge amount of cheap traffic, but you have to optimize and exclude low performing publishers.

- It is a high ticket industry and advertisers need specific leads (have private insurance and are ready to relocate to other states for the rehab process). You will get a lot of non targeted traffic like people looking for Anonymous Alcoholics or just asking for advice.
- Google and Facebook require Legitscript confirmation that only direct advertiser has. That was implemented on purpose to disallow 3d parties to do lead generation in this niche.
