Good day everyone, please can someone compare online marketing to the old traditional offline market and give advantages of each?

1.Cost

Companies spend a lot of amounts to promote their brand to increase their sales or services throughout. When it comes to expenses, online marketing is affordable than offline marketing. In offline, we should spend a lot of money to maintain stock, give salaries, pay rents and other bills…etc. but in online, major expenses are starting an optimized website (website with SEO), giving ads on social media or search engines which are comparatively very less expensive than offline promotions such as TV, Radio or Newspaper ads.

2.Exposure

Offline promotions have its own limit. It never guarantees maximum exposure. But online does not have any barriers. It reaches out globally and gets maximum exposure. You can sell a product globally without even setting up local outlets. It is not compulsory to have huge stocks or a big godown to store all your raw materials.

3.Convenience – 247/7 or 365 Days

There are no time barriers to internet marketing. Customers visit your web and buy your products or services at any time. Where in offline you can expect sales or customers only when your outlet is opened.

The brick and mortar businesses of the past are now fully integrated into online marketing in one way or another. Comparing them from the old days is like comparing Wilbur Wrights first airplane to a modern day fighter jet.

This is the NewbieHelpdesk forum, let's get a serious question here you may need help on!

I found the Internet to be the 'great equalizer' when I got interested in the media in 1999 -- 20 years this winter ;)
To me the Internet was a marketplace where you could start a business enterprise with little cash investment and use your time as 'sweat equity'

Today establishing an *Internet Digital Marketing Enterprise* is more costly so it has become more common, unfortunately, to use the current silos to spam your message. There used to be places that encouraged free advertisements and links -- even something we called a 'link dump' whose sole purpose was to funnel traffic.

People were in discovery mode back then: link dumps and *top lists* as well as banner exchanges were common and trafficked by many people. Today, as the Internet "population" has grown so much -- we have raised barriers and walls to protect us for both evil and Google.

Spammers ruined the Internet and the heavy hand of the elGoog Penguin and Panda in their continuum of self-serving interests with the mantra of protecting the user from the *bad guys*. In reality, the reasoning was make them pay for more ads IMHO.

There is still opportunity in *cyberspace* just more rules and warlords of the internet ;)
