Newbie video promotions

Hey guys how's it going? i've been thinking about doing some video presentations of the site I'm building and some "how to use" videos. First off has any one actually seen a big difference in sign up or conversions when using a video on the home page. And does any one have any good outsource to go to?

I think it's always good to show users the way yes.

Even if its in a FAQ or that type of section.

Either do them yourself or there's some great people on oDesk.

sometimes when you have only a video for a special report that only plays if they register.... This is a pretty good technique
