I think of it in terms of who, what, where, how
Best way to start is to work out who you're going to sell to, who is you're target customer/niche.
Then what are you going to promote, find something that you're comfortable in promoting
The where is then where does your target customer hangout, are they on Facebook, Youtube, Pinterest etc.
Then how are you going to reach them. You need to come up with an offer that is going to be of value to them eg a free lead magnet or coupon. Then run some traffic to the offer and see if it converts

Well at least for people to help you ,you need at least to decide what model of business you want to follow ,If you plan to start in affiliate marketing i suggest you to start with reviews of different products ,create review videos review blog posts etc .This will make you some sales as people are already in buying state
