Hello Everyone,
I want to first start off by saying thank you for welcoming me here to your community, I hope that over time I will grow with this community. My name is Jason and I an 31 year old dad of 3 beautiful children. I have been interested in the "working from home" or the online industry for quite some time just never put the wheels in motion until now. To be completely honest, The working online deal was more of a contingency plan then anything else. But now being forced into this global pandemic with no way of things returning back to "normal". Just seems like i really made a bad choice waiting until now. (Not that i could predict this kind of event happening). Would there be anyone who would be willing to help give guidance and/or possible mentoring to help me better understand where I'm going wrong and what steps i can take to fix it.

What is your niche & target audience?

I think your request is not clear.
Have you started affiliate marketing and failing recently so checking for a quick solution?
Or are you still trying to decide on going online?
Your message says that you found the initiative to go online.

Hi, Jason and welcome to AffiliateFix!

It's never too late to start.

This whole forum is your mentor. And it won't even cost you anything to access all the information you need.

I always like to recommend that newbies start with these threads:

WIKI (START HERE) for industry lingo, terms, descriptions, starting a campaign
Newbie Helpdesk for newbie questions and concerns

Anytime you have a question or need help, just start a thread to let us know.

Good luck with your new path in life and enjoy the forums!

I do not wish this to come out rude or in the wrong way at all, but I do want to be quite clear on something that was mentioned, I am not looking for a quick solution to this. As I have done a lot of research and trails to understand that this is not a get rich scam or a way to fill my pockets full of cash over night. That was never my intention with this. I really want to build a business that can give me the freedom and flexibility of my own time to manage it better for my family.

My niche is the home and garden, but that's a big part of my issues is getting the audience.
  1. Which country are you targeting?
  2. What language will you target?
  3. What main problem can you solve for your audience?
  4. What types of products do you specialise for within home and garden?
  5. What is your content type? (video, blog, social, images)
  6. How will you attract visitors? (SEO, PPC, other)
  7. How much time can you commit each day/week?
  8. What are your revenue targets?
  9. What level of technical skills do you have?
  10. Have you joined any affiliate networks/programs?

I do not have a targeted country yet.
i will be targeting english speaking countries
i do not have the answer to question 3 just yet
well i do not really specialize in any of it, this is all just based off my personal experience over the years
my content type is a website and a blog
now see this is where it gets a little tricky im not to sure if i want to do seo, ppc, or ppv. (looking for the one that delivers moderate results so i have time to learn and grow too).
to be honest the time really isnt to much of an issue, im a stay at home dad so i have plenty of time to spare each week. (plus im due to have surgery in October so ill be at home for another 2 to 3 weeks recovering from that.)
i dont really have a revenue target yet i would like to see my website or blog reach around $200 - $500 a month.
i do not have very much technical skills at all
the only affiliate program that i have joined has been clickbank so far, ive given thought to warrior plus and jvzoo but havent joined yet and this is the only forum that i have joined to learn from.

I do not have a targeted country yet.
Suggest you choose a country to target (the one you're in makes most sense since you know it the best)
Of the English speaking countries they all
  • use different words and phrases for things
  • have different time zones
  • celebrate different holidays
  • different styles of writing
  • even different web designs
So going after all of them wouldn't give you an advantage

i will be targeting english speaking countries

Once you know the country you can choose which English to write in
Again suggest you write in your natural English
Look at the different dialects of English on Wikipedia and choose one
Then stick to it

i do not have the answer to question 3 just yet

This is vital to know what problem you are solving
You can use tools like Google Trends, Uber Suggest and Answer The Public to find ideas
Since home and garden is a broad spectrum it would be wise to pick one
For home - home security is a huge problem in the world, especially for people on a budget so you could create content about how people can secure their home with simple tips (there are thousands)
It would be better to choose a state (if you are US) or a region, since you can stick to one set of laws on home intrusion
For garden - people are spending more time at home and in their garden
How about
  • ways to pimp up your garden (promote fancy stuff)
  • how to repair your garden fence (promote tools)
  • monetise your garden (promote legal hydrophonics kits)
It needs to be directly related to products you can monetise
The more specific the better for you

well i do not really specialize in any of it, this is all just based off my personal experience over the years

If you choose a good niche then you can choose key product types

my content type is a website and a blog

Simple and straightforward to set up good

now see this is where it gets a little tricky im not to sure if i want to do seo, ppc, or ppv. (looking for the one that delivers moderate results so i have time to learn and grow too).

Best advice is create your content first and then you can test how to promote it
After all you can't promote something that doesn't exist

to be honest the time really isnt to much of an issue, im a stay at home dad so i have plenty of time to spare each week. (plus im due to have surgery in October so ill be at home for another 2 to 3 weeks recovering from that.)

Best to set aside specific time each day for specific tasks
If you sit in front of a screen all days randomly doing things it will wear you out
There is an approach called TRAFFIC LIGHTS
You list your top 3 objectives each day in order
1 is green
2 is amber
3 is red
Get your traffic lights done first and schedule when you will do each task

i dont really have a revenue target yet i would like to see my website or blog reach around $200 - $500 a month.

Always be specific how much money your are trying to make
If you want $500 a month that's easily achievable its less than $20 a day
Use a formula like 100 visits convert at 10% and each conversion = $2
100 visits a day = $20 a day revenue
That's your $20 a day or $500 each month
There's probably a better formula - ask the others like the mods

i do not have very much technical skills at all

That's ok you can set up a website in one hour with the right skills
Without skills it's easy enough to do in one day
But ask for advice before you do this
There are plenty of pitfalls, scams, rip offs and dubious practices out there
Even the big hosting companies are at it
  • Domains cost from $5
  • Hosting costs from $10
  • SSL costs from $5
  • Plus your regional tax
You can easily set up pro website for less than $30 a year costs

the only affiliate program that i have joined has been clickbank so far, ive given thought to warrior plus and jvzoo but havent joined yet and this is the only forum that i have joined to learn from.

Joining the right program is important
But far more important right now is being 100% sure of your plan
Some things will work and some won't
Keep moving forward

Well i advise you to search for a method like affiliate marketing ,dropshiping etc and work hard .Also i advice you to also look for a job as aff marketing its not easy and if you depend on it you can be disapointed .So find a job and in your free time work hard with online marketing

Haven't heard of this approach until now. This is a very very good one, I struggle with this as I'm often spending way too long in front of the screen researching and I do wear out. It's really in your best interest to have a goal for the day and to know what tasks you should focus on. I'm going to incorporate this starting now, thanks!!
