There are a lot of "solutions" but when it comes to bots made with Selenium or Chrome Headless that use WebDriver it's not so simple.
We've been battling this for many years. The services and integrations we have now are about 90% there, but some still get in.
I'm not sure we'll ever see and end to them, but remedies are getting far better at it. When it comes to traffic we buy, the reliable and sophisticated networks are implementing as many methods as possible to eliminate them before they get to us, but even for them with extremely deep pockets it's a challenge.
When buying traffic, you should be able to identify the source of some and block them in your traffic sources dashboard. Other options are available through integrations and subscription platforms.
A friend of mine just started testing Radware and says it looks promising. Gens 1, 2, and 3 bots are pretty easy to detect and block, but only a few platforms are having success with gen 4 which seems to be far more evasive. Perhaps due to the details Graybeard shared.
