Mobile Apps or Mobile Sites?

So those of you who have pushed mobile traffic what do you find converts the best? Sites designed for mobile traffic or Apps and installs for mobile?

In our experience mobile application convert better than mobile sites. According to recent stats (http://j.mp/14qjVw8) apps are beginning to dominate traffic, representing 84% of traffic whilst mobile web accounts for 16%.
