My story... I joined this forum almost a year ago to date wanting to learn more about affiliate marketing and how to succeed. At that time I had a basic website up and running referring visitors to my niche. I was earning (averaging) around $400/month. Every night I was visiting here learning everything I could about online marketing. Learning all the terms, tips...ete.

Around this time I started reading posts by a member here named Jim Corkern. Can't quite remember what the exact reason for PM'ing him was but I knew I wanted to learn more from him....and I did! The tools he provided me along with his tips and knowledge has got me where I'm at today! I will be straight up front!...This business is not a "get rich quick" deal. I'm sure some have found a niche and was fortunate enough to have this happen but you CANNOT have this mind-set going into this! It is hard work!

Jim started me off at ground level with what I already had and I was able to raise myself several plateaus throughout the past year. To give you idea of where I'm at now...last month I grossed 5k, this month I'm up to 7k and I have no intentions on stopping till I can quit my day job! I am just returning here tonight (a year later) to say it CAN be done BUT with a lot of hard work required! When I met Jim I had a 110% mindset into getting what I wanted...quitting my day job! That being said meant staying up late every night commenting on blogs, writing articles and optimizing my website with rich content.

Does it seem like I worked hard for this...yes! Long nights...you bet! But in the end it will be all worth it because I will be able say..."I'm my own boss" and that will be a good thing! It can be done members! I really feel the most important thing to possess in getting you to the top is...."Passion". It's not going to happen over night but if you study and read everything Jim has to say you will succeed. Also I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Jim for everything he has done for me, guiding me along, teaching me what's right and wrong...everything! I will say this though... if you are not totally committed into whatever your niche is...don't bother him! You can easily see that he is rated high here on 5-star. If you are not 110% into it he will sniff you out and throw you out like a sack of trash!..LOL! The guy knows his stuff and you will learn what it takes!

Hey Jim!.... sup?

My Motto...

If You have passion...you will succeed!

Jeff

Hey Jeff,

Big congrats and thanks SO much for sharing your story. It sounds like
Jim was an excellent mentor to you and was so instrumental to your success.
Yes he's a great guy and we are so lucky to have someone with his talents.

WOW, what a story. So happy for you. You’ve worked hard
and you are making it!!!

Jeff, You earned it!

Let me tell everyone here that knowledge is 100% worthless unless you put it into practise, and Jeff worked like a dog for a whole year, holding a full time job and then coming home and sitting in front of his computer when I know good and well that he did not feel like doing that.

The good thing is that it is paying off for him, and you can do the same with dedication. Aim high, set your sights and never give up, because you too can reach the same marks.

This is no get rich quick system, but you can make it if you hold on and keep pushing.

My hat's off to Jeff for making it happen.

Jeff,

Thanks for sharing your story of perseverance and committment. Those of us who have been invovled in Affiliate Marketig for some time, know that it is a buisness like any other and must be developed over time.

Would you mid sharing whether or not you focused on one site or not, and if not, how long you worked on your primary before branching out? My reason for asking is that I am bog on "focus" and I know that many who end up in the online marketing world struggle with focus (myself included), and can easily get side tracked with other projects.

Thanks and congrats!

Anthony

He stayed focused on one site throughout the process and has just added a blog into the mix, as well as a part time employee so that he can now build at a slightly faster rate.

Thanks Jim. Given his success, I assumed as much. Just wanted to confirm.

Speaking of focus, I once heard this at a conference and it applies to affiliate marketing just the same, "if you are trying to pursue multiple opportunities, you will most likely fail at all of them". It was one of the best pieces of advice to help me focus and resist distractions. It was also quoted by a guy who went from pressing shirts to becoming a millionaire in direct sales - not because of his business savvy, but because of focus and determination.

He is a wise person. I am big on focus also, that is why I kept him on one site the entire time.

During building anything, a business, a car, whatever you are doing, it is always best to put all of your eggs in one basket until you have a full basket, Until it is full, you really have nothing to protect or preserve anyway, right? And people who diversify at the start are trying to preserve something they do not have yet.

Get dedicated, stay focused and you can make all your dreams come true, even in a bad finiancial market like today. Johnson & Johnson started in the great depression, so nobody should let that be an excuess not to make your business thrive.

"if you are trying to pursue multiple opportunities, you will most likely fail at all of them".

I just added it to my book, it is a great quote!

Thanks for that.

Jim

Profound Jim! I really liked the way you described the eggs in the basket. I try to tell people that all the time but have never figure out a way to say it that will.

I'm going to go add that paragraph or maybe just the whole post to the Hall of Fame so I can find it again.

AWESOME STUFF!

This : ""if you are trying to pursue multiple opportunities, you will most likely fail at all of them". was from seo affiliate. Just wanted to clarify that.
