Is it really possible to make a living with media buying?

One of the things I find the hardest when doing media buying
is finding balance between optimizing and traffic sources algorithm
With COD I noticed traffic drop and even sale drop for certain time period.

I don't think it's my optimizing problem because I tried everything
even if i restart or optimizing further it doesn't seem to give any change

Is really moving onto different traffic source is the answer?
What could I do to find something stable forever?
 
You have to find ways to optimize the people attributes of the 'traffic'

Traffic is just numbers same as the road traffic at a physical location (in most instances [creative v. directive advertising]).

'people attributes'
means assigning location values to abstract IPs; or, if retargeting or selecting by intention: past envents;

So I think until you can do the above effectively: You are just swatting flies and tossing cow pies at the barn wall hoping that some will stick.

Stability is something found in volume and experience -- difficult to achieve.

The solution is to find new ponds to put your hook in I guess. That is just the nature of advertising in a broad cast (shotgun method).
hmm, there are traffic sources with big inventory would that help the problem?

Another 'fisherman's trick': Change the bait on the hook when the fish that usually bite --don't.
Sell something related to a known profitable location. Different domain, different creative and different (but related) offer.
I mean you have 'fished a meal' out of that pond in the past -- so you know it is possible to do.
