The reason so many are using article marketing is because it works. I'm interested in your experiences with article marketing.

Do you have any tips or strategies you would like to share that have made article marketing work well for you?

yes and no

short answer yes, but I'll say no. the time i put into writing articles doesn't compare to the amount of traffic i get for them. I've change to writing articles for informational purposes only now.

Hi,

I have to agree that the time put in doesn't seem to pay off in any huge burst of traffic. But I have seen other people's articles that were very timely do well in search engines.

I think the point of articles may be to generate links back to your site from other places where your articles get posted. So it's more of a long term thing. It is a lot of work though.

And again, unless through luck or genuis you time something very well, it doesn't seem to be a magic bullet.

I just do it for the backlinks. The direct traffic is almost nothing.

But it gets my new sites ranking in the serps pretty quickly. :)

good point

Actually thats a good point, the direct traffic, is almost nothing, but as i said i still do write artciles, becasue there are some many non-direct alternatives that articels give you.
1.credibility, if you write articles then your educated on the subject.
2.a gateway for a lot of traffic. If you can write a controversal article on any sunject, and then get the article passed around you can get a lot of links and a lot of traffic. i konw one article with the head line "mothers are worth $132000" a year got enormus traffic within just a few days.

actaully heres a link for writing "link baiting" articles which encourage people to link to you.

Article marketing work well for me as well.

My strategy?

I used to submit to isnare.com and articlemarketer.com (paid), but now I just submit to 3:

Ezinearticles.com
Goarticles.com
articledashboard.com

Webpronews.com, addme. and buzzle are excellent places as well.

Articles bring me visitors, sales, subscribers and first page on google!

I love article marketing!

It disturbs me how much time i wasted by NOT having my articles published every week. Since i have started writing, my placements in the search engines have been outstanding for the keywords i use and my visits are way up. I should have been doing this all along. I have also learned that i like writing and even started a blog(something i thought i would never do).

I think the point you guys and gals make is that you have to keep it up. And also, like everything else, skill matters.

I think the first time I submitted an article (Get it - 1 article) I wasn't excited about the results. Since then I have read up on good places to submit, tips to make your title and copy more attractive, and my results have been better. Sometimes results have been fantastic, and sometimes they have not been all that exciting.

I have submitted some articles, and then gotten google searches on them THE NEXT DAY, and I have submitted some articles and barely noticed a blip.

If I was going to tell a new person to start article marketing, I would tell them to learn a little about writing copy, researching hot topics, places to submit, the point of writing articles...etc. And also, 10 articles are better than one article.

Just like everything else, success takes some work and skill. It all takes time.

- articles marketing work and they drive quality traffic and the most important get backlinks which will can be your online sources to get free traffic from search engines. furthermore, make credibility.

The best way is to select articles directories:
- High page rank
- try to add your articles in the same articles direcotries to get your profile with high page rank (visit top authors)
- select articles directories that use your article title as the url and the title of the web page where they will add your articles (at this moment you can optimize your article title with your most important keywords)
- resources box: is where you will ask your readers to take action, your job is to drive these readers to your web site not let them navigate the article directory. Quality content then resources box optimized with keywords for search engine purpose and ask your readers to go to your web site.
- this take time but will help you to build your online foundation and this for people they plan to a long term online business (long term = 6-12 months depending to your writing articles capacity).

I know it works well

Article marketing is a great strategy and works well also.

The list of article ezines bellow mentioned by a member are a good direction to go to submit your work.

Ezinearticles.com
Goarticles.com
articledashboard.com

Write 10 articles and submit them to one directory and wait a week and I think you would be pleasantly surprised. Search engines love this and will rank you high.

Also there is time involved but that is just the beginning. You use this form of advertising along with other traffic sources your use and then hire someone to write and submit articles to directories on a weekly basis.

Hope that helps.

Article marketing works, but you do have to be patient. It is not a marketing method for advertsing something that is a short lived hot item. Also you have to be careful with the use of affiliate links. What I've always found to work best is to use redirects instead of affiliate links.

Article marketing is great. I use squidoo to do most of it and I'm getting a lot of traffic from Google since I have several squidoo lenses on the first page as well as sales.

Also I submitted my first ezinearticle and waiting for it to be approved so just waiting to see how those results would go.

Article Marketing

Article marketing works for me. I get lots of direct traffic and my search engine rankings improved over time as well. I submit articles on business topics, cooking and spirituality and they all have worked for me.

Article Marketing

For myself, I have used article marketing for increasing my search engine ranking for numerous keywords and phrases.

I don't actually receive much direct traffic from the articles, however most of my key phrases are in the top #5 results after submitting for 3 months.

Some say that articles submission is "THE" ticket for traffic increase and success. We should not forget that articles are being found by:

-Webmasters: they always try to find new articles to post as they work hard to drive traffic to their website (for FREE).

-Ezines publishers: they always look for new articles to post in their ezines and they work hard to drive traffic and get new subscribers so new potential prospects (for FREE).

-It creates inbound links so SE love it (for FREE).

But also, your articles must be written with good original contents and usefull for your readers.

Other tips:

-Don't submit an article every day, it may be classified as spam by SE.
-Submit one article every week or every two weeks and publish it to your blog (and ping your blog).
-Keep adding articles (20-30 or more) so you build your presence on the internet over time and you are view as an authority.
-Articles can work for you for years to come because webmasters and publishers don't delete them, they keep ading contents constantly.

It's a long term process, not a quick get traffic scenario like traffic exchanges. My stragegy is mainly focus around it.

Good luck!

I'm a huge fan of article marketing. It has the ability to drive targeted traffic for both the short and long term. That is providing the article is well written with relevant content, has an audience, and sprinkled with relevant keywords and keyword phrases.

Your well written article may end up on hundreds of websites, blogs, Squidoo lenses, and other social bookmarking sites, with all of your links intact, pointing to either your website or programs of choice. It's just like having an army of affiliates working for you.

Proof reading them is crucial. You'll eventually learn how to weave your keywords, phrases and links into your masterpiece without sounding spammy.

Another positive I can think of is Google. Google loves well written articles.
The keyword here is well written. Just type in any subject, and there's a very good possibility you'll see either Ezinearticles, Goarticles, Squidoo, or Usfreeads on the first page.

Some people are under the impression that it takes weeks or months to get your article noticed. I've personally seen results in as little as three days!
My only expense was my time.

I have had limited success with articles. If they are picked up by someone thet can generate good traffic. I have now taken some copywriting instruction andam now being more careful in how I write them to make them stand out from the thousands of other being submitted each day!

The first 2-3 were a real mission to write but now I find it quite easy and pleasant to do.

There are specific tricks to article marketing that few understand. Shear quantity can bring massive traffic from articles. I wrote an article on part of the advantages af artice marketing in the seo part of the forum. But there are other tricks that can be used to gain a lot of traffic from articles.

Do a search for this phrase "cash til payday loan ladentown new york"
and you will see 3 top 10 results of an article i wrote and the directories were so powerful that when they were indexed and cached by google that they defaulted into the top 10. So in essence i have 3 top 10 positions for that keyword phrase.

Choose some lesser keywords, use them as the title of the article and get to writing.

You may spend an hour writing 1 article but could gain from 1 to 100 visitors a day per article within a week or 2.

Now, Write an article a day and calculate the results.

Article marketing is by far the most usefull marketing tool on the net.

I agree with you, and am spending more time on articles. If you target the links back to your site well, it can really help with deep linking too.

I wish I would have spent more time on articles, and less on some other things. The feedback from an article is not instant,

I plan on changing that strategy.

depending on what i am targeting, i can start getting a steady flow of traffic from an article in 2 weeks or less if i use a keyword or phrase as the title.

So lets use this as an example. Lets say i average 10 visitors a day per keyword using the power of the actual article directories to default in for phrases.
Writing 1 article a day would amount to 300 unique visitors a day the very first month. And you know it is targeted traffic, it was found by keywords in the saerch engines, so the conversion rate should be high if you choose the right phrases., so at this rate, in 3 months you are getting 900 visitors a day. and this is just one method of article marketing, not counting search engine rankings improveing in 3 months, not including clicks from other article directories that the articles are listed in.

I do not believe that you will get hit for article spam if you write unique articles.

If you use spinners and all of these questionable tools you might be called a spammer, but google will not punish you for spam for original content that is completely unique to your wording and writing style.

I have been useing this method for years. I had a client in israel that i used this method for and the last i checked he was in the top 100 in alexa for israel, like position 82. and this was a few days ago.

Dont buy into all of the speculation and rumors.

There are methods to gain targeted traffic fairly quick with only a few hours of labor a day.

the only reason you need to look at articles as a long term tool is if you just choose it to be a long term gig.

You can get quick results.
