Starting an affiliate blog in 2026 still works, but not in the way people used to think. AI has made content easy to produce, so just publishing more articles doesn’t really move the needle anymore.
Buying an old blog can give you a head start, but only if it already has clean history and real topical relevance. Otherwise you’re just inheriting random content and hoping Google figures it out for you.
A new blog takes longer, but it gives you full control over direction and structure. If you actually focus on solving specific search intent instead of chasing volume, it can still grow from scratch.
At this point, it’s less about old vs new domain and more about whether you’re building something that deserves to rank.
