Hi, been on the internet for about 25-30 years or so, so I consider myself old school by now. Had great successes and great fails. Stayed away from forums for a while because of all the drama that sometimes comes with it, I already had a 10yr account here but can't remember the name or email so a new account.

I'm registered as a web designer - Internet Marketer in the chamber of commerce but I rarely take on new clients unless I find it an interesting niche but mostly I'm working on my own sites.

I focus on POD, dating and 18+ niches and sites.

Stopped everything for a while when unfortunate things happened and addiction got a hold on me and now starting over again and checking a few forums to get some updates what's what these days.

Many people's goal is to become a millionaire and stuff, my goal is to emigrate to a different country where houses and land are cheap, go off the grid and become completely self sufficient because I can be very social but I prefer to be on my own, I don't like society that much. ;)
Anyway, have nice day.

I consider myself old school by now

There is often a load of wisdom that comes with that.

Had great successes and great fails

Only those that truly understand effort and persistence accumulate successes along side failures. They both have value!

Stayed away from forums for a while because of all the drama that sometimes comes with it

There is more now then the old days in this biz. The younger ones seem to frequently want everything handed to them. Then they tend to clash with us old dogs.

mostly I'm working on my own sites.

That's what builds a future!

addiction got a hold on me and now starting over

Stay strong and hope you have a good support to move forward out of that darkness. Most every family and/or group of friends have been touched by that devil in some form. When I was a much younger man it was mostly alcohol and heroin, but these days there are so many roads to addiction by comparison. I wish you good luck and good fortune with your move forward to be addiction free.

I don't like society that much.

I've herd that sentiment many times. I, and many others, have found a middle ground with that. With age comes needs that can't be accessible when completely off grid. I hope your choice bears fruit without incident.

Life's full of its ups and downs, just got to hang around and roll with the punches I guess.

Welcome back! Appreciate your honesty — sounds like you've got a lot of experience and a clear vision for the future. Wishing you success on your new start and the off-grid dream.

Welcome to AffiliateFix, Franky!

Fresh starts can lead to some really great new places. After what you've dealt with, the road ahead may feel smoother to and for you.

I heard something just the other day - life's 'L's don't stand for 'loses', they stand for 'lessons'.

my goal is to emigrate to a different country where houses and land are cheap
Don't come to Canada then, the prices would make your eyes water. I don't even know where anyone can find cheap anything these days.

I don't like society that much.
I rarely venture out, myself. I'm becoming socially awkward now, I think. Been so long. Hermits unite! :rofl

As a (ahem) mature woman, I have to echo what T J Tutor said about aging needs versus off-grid living. Between continuing care, potential emergency room visits and any in-home care, it would probably be tough to live a comfortable life off-grid. But I've always loved the idea of it, hope you're able to live that dream if you can. I think you have a great new start!
