Increasing PR?

I know this is an older thread, but I came across a recent post by Amit Mehta on his Super Affiliate Mindset blog about how to maximize your Google page rank. He offers good, sensible, and easy to follow advice, definitely worth a read:

Surviving Google's Landing Page Score

Hope it's helpful and hasn't been posted somewhere already :)

increasing PR

If you have some time to spend, you can do a search and make a list of blogs which have removed the no-follow tag for links in comments. Then comment on some posts there, making sense and staying on topic.

However, PR is very important only in case you want to sell links on your site. Otherwise, a very good on page optimization (with the help of a few external links which are not very hard to get) should bring you amongst the first search engines results pages.

Lsi

I've been reading a growing trend in the way search engines grade you. LSI (or Latent Semantic Indexing) where certain themed words, paragraphs and pages are given higher gravity in the search engines than others.

In a thread ( that I lost ) - they mentioned using the " ~ " in front of your google searches when doing keyword research... This pulls up synonyms of the key word and search engines are looking at the big picture now.

Keyword density is evolving

Just something else to keep up with I suppose.

Both Google and Yahho use LSI. This is to cover more natural linking practises. It can give a more powerful credit for a link with just the http:// and the url instead of an html link with anchor. It does this by crediting keywords or phrases and also synonyms in close proxcimity to the url link.

So basicaly a paragraph like this carries almost weight as an anchored link with a keyword or phrase.

Water damage restoration services are ready to serve all of your emergency dry out needs and have the tools and training nessary to finish the job right. You can visit http:// www . the url.com and get plenty of additional information on the moisture controll services in your area.

I do not like a lot of things that the major search engines do, but this is one of the best ideas they have ever started using. This gives credit for a related link that is anchored without the anchor.

Now, there is a catch. There is only a small percentage of these types of links that will be credited in this method. The reason is that this could be just as abused as html links.

This is exactly why i use articles for the primary links system, you can submit the bios with http links or html anchored links and it mixes well with google and sites climb faster because the linking looks more "natural" to them.
