In addition to the com domain name, which domain name do you think has greater development potential?

Although .com is still the most common domain name suffix, in recent years, domain name suffixes such as .io, .ai, and .tech have gradually attracted attention, especially in the fields of technology and innovation. Which non-.com suffixes do you think may have greater development potential in the next few years? Feel free to share your views!

I do think the .ai and .io are pulling weight. But you don't have to use them just because of the rising popularity. It's better to use what rhymes with your website. For example if you have a commercial website where people sell and buy services or things, then .com is the the perfect domain name for that. .com stands for .commercial . company

If your website is for an organization, then .org would be more suitable for it. If your website is a network .network is most suitable for it. But if your website is on the technology field or artificial intelligence field then .ai and .io would be very good for them. It would be weird to have something like pornhub.ai think about it :rofl

My ".ai" domains are running about $90 a year at GoDaddy at the moment with privacy and protection. All others are $11 yearly with my bulk domain discounts. They're even that much at NameCheap. That says a lot about the demand.

Absolutely, the best domain is the one that matches your brand and purpose.

For me .ai is the clear frontrunner right now purely because of how strongly it signals what a company actually does, which is something .io never really had going for it outside of the developer crowd. Whether it holds that value long term once the AI hype settles is the real question thoug. This piece looks at the trust side of it pretty honestly "nominus"

If .ai keeps attracting serious companies, tools, agencies, and platforms that actually build on it, then the value can last beyond the current AI cycle.

I've come to the conclusion that if you do not control the .com domain along with your .ai name, or your dot whatever—you've got a giant traffic leak if you're ever successful with big-dream SEO efforts or your branding and trademark.

I agree with this for any brand that starts getting real traction. Using .ai, .io, or another extension can make sense at launch if it fits the product and audience.

I think .ai still has the biggest momentum right now, especially with how strong the AI space is becoming.
.io is still popular for startups and SaaS, while .tech feels more branding-focused.

I agree with this.

.ai has the strongest momentum right now because people immediately understand the category. If a company is building around AI, automation, data, agents, or tools, the extension can actually help explain the business faster.
