Hi everyone,

I've been testing different website traffic sources over the past few months and wanted to hear how other affiliate marketers evaluate traffic quality.

A lot of people search for services to:

  • Buy website traffic
  • Buy website visitors
  • Buy SEO traffic
  • Buy web traffic
But I've found that visitor quality matters much more than visitor quantity.

When testing a traffic source, I usually look at:

  • Average engagement time
  • Bounce rate
  • Pages per session
  • Returning visitors
  • Country targeting
  • Device type (mobile vs desktop)
  • Conversion rate
I've also noticed more websites receiving referral traffic from AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot, so I'm starting to include AI referral data in my reporting as well.

Questions for the community

  1. What traffic sources are giving you the best ROI in 2026?
  2. Do you buy website traffic for testing landing pages or affiliate offers?
  3. Which metrics do you trust the most when evaluating a traffic provider?
  4. Are you seeing meaningful AI referral traffic yet?
I've been building a project called TrafficMillion, where I'm experimenting with targeted website visitor campaigns, GEO targeting, mobile/desktop segmentation, and analytics reporting.

If anyone is interested in seeing what I'm working on, here's the project:

I'm not looking to make a sales pitch—I genuinely want to learn how other affiliates and media buyers evaluate traffic quality before investing in a campaign.

Looking forward to hearing your experiences.

I would not judge bought traffic by volume first. I would check if the visitors behave like real people with real intent. If they stay, click, scroll, sign up, or come back later, then it may be worth testing more.
