Hey everyone,

I’m curious to hear from other affiliates, when you’re deciding which programs or merchants to work with, what’s your decision-making process?
Do you focus more on:
  • Commission rates or structure (CPL, CPA, rev share)
  • EPC/conversion data
  • Reputation of the network or merchant
  • Payout speed and reliability
  • The niche and how well it matches your audience
Also wondering if there are any networks or tools you’ve stuck with long term, and why.

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

For me its simple i watch the sale page ,read it etc

If it convince me that its a good product for me then i think it will attract others

I dont take the price into consideration as i see 20 bucks products looking better and more convincing that 1k product

To confirm, you are asking specifically about affiliate "programs" and not affiliate network "offers, correct?

Affiliate offers, IMO, require a content site to properly set up for significant conversions. A well developed affiliate offer presented on a well developed niche content site is what can go evergreen and produce well with proper maintenance and frequently updated content.

Do you focus more on:
  • Commission rates or structure (CPL, CPA, rev share)
  • EPC/conversion data
  • Reputation of the network or merchant
  • Payout speed and reliability
  • The niche and how well it matches your audience

I don't see the need, or deem it appropriate, to separate these for which has higher value of focus and neither should you. They are important aspects and all need proper evaluation.

There is no *sure way*

  1. The merchantability of the product or service
    • Is the quality there?
    • Is the pricing competitive?
  2. Can I sell enough to the product to ..
    • meet my advertising cost and
    • be worth my time spent to make it show a profit?
I think I can convert it, so I'll try to set up a funnel—once you get to that point I generally assign the project some spend level—to see if it works well enough to continue with that product/item ...
