How can affiliates help my business?

Greetings,
I just found this forum and am interested in learning how affiliate may help my business. We develop marketing CDs, e-business cards, web sites and marketing videos. I often pay a finders fee to those who bring us new business and was interested to see if others have developed this type of program.

Welcome to 5 Star. There are lots of different types of marketing services companies
that have affiliate programs.

Do your customers mainly buy online? Do you have a shopping cart the sales run through? Or is it more a direct sales company where you close customers by phone because they need a consultation and you can't quote a fee until you determine the scope of the project?
