The thought came to mind that I should join a few affiliate marketing forums.
For context, I dabbled in affiliate marketing a few years ago but never made a substantial amount. I then decided I wanted to learn how to be a coder. After a few years as an android developer, python developer and now as a web developer, I have decided to dip my feet in affiliate marketing once again.
I would like to connect with like minded individuals.

Welcome to Affiliatefix!

Loads to learn in this ever changing landscape. Just when we think everything is settling into a pattern everything seems to bring on new changes.

Have you settled on an area of marketing to start with?

email marketing. I also develop saas applications and want to learn how to use affiliate marketing to increase my income

Two very different spaces but one can support the other. You actually have need to a good plan, constantly testing it and scaling it.

For the email marketing, you need to build a list based on your authority in the development space. You are going to need a reasonable budget, a professionally presented website with an affiliate portal, and a well developed marketing plan.

For the email marketing, have you started building your email list, already have a well developed and loyal list?

i sort of have a decent list in the development niche. I don't know how to use it effectively tho and thus why I'm on this forum :D

Okay, well there are many of us that do a significant amount of email marketing. It's important to note that you still need to have a "reasonable budget, a professionally presented website with an affiliate portal, and a well developed marketing plan."

How big is your list?

Welcome matey!

Like TJ said, in email marketing conversion rates depend heavily on the source of your list.

Most issues come from brokered lists that get flagged as spam or deliver poor returns. A bought list may still work, but expect low conversions and inbox delivery problems.

An earned list—built through opt-ins—is more targeted, engaged, and trusted. That will make a big difference—in any long-term success.
