Hi Everybody,
My name is Mike, and I am the owner of Excite Digital Properties. We sell e-books, software, etc. Basically anything digital download.

I came here because I am in the process of launching our affiliate program, and I hope to get some insights from affiliate marketers about the best features / conversion value, etc. So that I can make our affiliate program attractive to potential affiliates.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and when I'm ready, I will register my program within the board resources so that we can (hopefully) all work together!

Keep me posted about this, I might be interested in adding your softwares to application directory and adding your affiliate program to the affiliate payday cooperative.

What I seek from affiliate programs - I don't like pay per download although we do list brave browser (which is a pay per download). I prefer pay per sale on all things - not leads, not actions, not clicks, etc.

I also can't to "requires approval" nor can I do encrypted links if adding to affiliate payday.

Residual payouts (each month a member pays affiliate earns) are always best but it depends on the commission percentages and costs of the softwares.

Gotta laugh at the recycle/reload of the old *Excite* name. In their day Excite and Altavista were big time. A while back, I worked with a Ph.D, one of the early AI developers of search for what was Altavista and their DoubleClick subsidiary --that Google bought several years ago. I am sorry for you. LOL (sorry I couldn't resist). I always hated both chats. In 99 I was to busy using volano java based chats and IRCs. Web chat always seemed so primitive at the time - even compared to IRC.

Right now we are leaning towards the pay per sale + clicks. The issue were facing is since all of our downloads are small ticket (Under $10) were trying to find a balance that makes the percentage high enough to be worth it for both parties.

I know that pay per click attracts a lot of traffic bots and whatnot, so were trying to put filters in place to keep it fair and honest.

Yahoo was java. I owned what was called a *Monkey Suit* too many exploit to mention ... Virtual chat (Excite) was a java code too --so maybe my semantics should have been *Internet chat* Ever heard of Mplayer Adult Video chat? Solaris Java. The old AFF was a HTML (Perl backend?) "web chat" perhaps. Don't feel sorry for me; I was meeting lot of people including a few ladies I got to know (too) well
